There are so many great North Carolina wedding venues that it can be hard to know what to pick! You’ve got plenty of options. Whether you’re looking for a modern space with open, airy light in the city or a small, intimate space in the mountains, NC has something for you!
1. THE ATRIUM | WILMINGTON, NC
Holy MOLY. This place is a literal dream. It’s basically a secret garden in the heart of Wilmington, right by the water. It’s covered in climbing vines with a clean, open atmosphere. There is an open ceiling that brings in so much natural light and really sets the tone of the space. It’s location is also prime – as if there aren’t already a ton of awesome spots for portraits within the venue itself, it’s just a few blocks from the water with some amazing photo spots along the way.
Check it out for yourself!
2. THE MILLENNIUM CENTER | WINSTON SALEM, NC
Okay. This venue does it ALL. I mean really – when you book, you’re also booking your caterers, bartenders, and other vendors. Its space is so classic and elegant with such a historic background. It’s also been the location for films, celebrity performances, shows, and some incredible weddings. I had the pleasure of working an Indian wedding with them in December 2021 and it ROCKED. We had so much fun exploring the space and finding some unique spots for portraits. I cannot wait to work with them again.
Check out their website.
3. THE DUKE MANSION | CHARLOTTE, NC
“Southern charm wrapped in modern luxury.” Couldn’t have said it better myself, Duke Mansion. I’ve been here quite a few times now for family sessions and every time it’s a dream. When you enter, you’re greeted by checkered floors and the feel of luxury. The whole space is wrapped in large windows which makes for amazing natural light (amazing photos), leading straight to the gardens where you’re engulfed in the scent of flowers. It’s beautiful.
Book a tour of the mansion here.
4. THE GRAND BOHEMIAN | CHARLOTTE, NC
Straight out of a magazine. Various floors of the hotel with each one being a different vibe in itself. The perfect spot for an elopement!!!
For those looking for a grand space, The Grand Bohemian is the site of choice. The hotel is full of modern art and creates such a unique, classy energy. Its rooftop terrace offers a jaw-dropping view of the city, making it ideal for wedding receptions or ceremonies.
Because I can’t accurately describe its beauty, just see it for yourself here!
5. Byon’s South End | Charlotte NC
Byron’s South End is a newly renovated 9,000 square foot banquet facility in South End, Charlotte. Formerly known as Nebel Knitting Mill, this building was built in 1929 and continues to emanate its historic charm as the area has developed over the years. The elegant surroundings and vibrant historic neighborhood make this venue ideal for any occasion.

6. THE OMNI GROVE PARK INN | ASHEVILLE, NC
I can’t tell you how many engagements & weddings have been here, and for obvious reasons. The best part being that it’s surrounded by the blue ridge mountains. Imagine your wedding ceremony on their terrace overlooking the mountains?!
Check it out.
7. THE BILTMORE
If you’re a native to NC, SC, or VA chances are, you’ve been here. I’ve been once as a tourist and it was quite the experience. There is so much history here and the beauty of it really takes your breath away. Just pulling up to the estate is mind blowing! What I love most about The Biltmore Estate is that the indoor space matches the outdoor space in terms of size. Lots of venues have an awesome indoor space but little outdoor or vice versa, so finding something that is equal in size and beauty is a real gem.
Please, just go there even if you aren’t engaged.
8. SKY RETREAT | PURLEAR, NC
If you’re a lover of the mountains, look no further my friend. This venue has so many amazing qualities. To start, the views!!! Surrounding the venue are the Blue Ridge mountains with lush pastures. The interior space is open, clean, classy, & can host a good amount of guests. One of the biggest selling points of this venue is that on the property, there are cabins where your guests can stay the weekend with you.
I’ll be sharing a blog soon to share some awesome content from a wedding there. But for now, check out their website here.
9. AIRBNB | ANYWHERE YOU WANT
Que the spiel.
Airbnb’s have begun to make their way into the wedding industry and I am here for it! What I love about airbnb’s for weddings is that they cater to any couple. If you’re getting married in a popular wedding destination, such as Charleston, South Carolina, you’ll find that it can get quite expensive when planning a wedding there – the city knows that it’s popular for these events and they charge accordingly, as they should. You can find some amazing airbnb’s for half the cost of a traditional wedding venue, which leaves you with extra spending $$$ for all the other moving parts of your day.
Another thing I love about airbnb wedding venues is that they can really be ANYWHERE. In some remote areas of the mountains, you probably will have a hard time finding a venue. If you do, there are slim pickings and it may not be what you two are looking for. Even if you aren’t looking for something too crazy or lavish, airbnbs can be simple and to the point, which sometimes is all you need.
